PCIe 3.0 vs PCIe 4.0?

Go to solution Solved by Dukesilver27-,

You will do video editing with 6750XT? Might want to consider Nvidia GPUs, unless your software does better with AMD.

And PCIE Gen 3 or 4 only matter when your GPU is faster than 3090 Ti or the GPU PCIE interface is not x16, so with 6750XT, there shouldn't be any problem.

I am trying to decide in between two mobos that are on sale on a good price: B450M Steel Legend vs B550M Aorus Elite. Steel Legend is the cheaper one.
I am thinking of upgrading my rig and I am choosing a Ryzen 7 5700X and a RX 6750 XT (both on sale with good prices as well). I am not planning going above 3200mhz on RAM. I am planning on using my PC for mainly video editing + recording/streaming.
My question is: The true advantage I see in choosing the Aorus Elite is PCIe Gen 4... But aesthetically, the Steel Legend looks better and, as I said, is cheaper. I need advice and clarification on that.
Thank you!
