Which PSU to choose?

R7sm7v4n

Hi, I'm looking for help in choosing a new power supply unit. Currently, I have a Thermaltake Smart SE 530W, which I've had for many years, and it has started making worrying noises under load. I've heard that it's not a very good model, and sometimes it trips the power during storms here, so I think it might be worth replacing it. I checked the website: https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ and found the following models in a similar price range:

- be quiet! Pure Power 11 400W (BN292) - Tier B (says be quiet! | Pure Power : 11 (CM) =>400W is it the same?) - 65 $

- Adata XPG PYLON 550 W - Tier C - 60 $

- MSI MAG A550BN 550W - Tier C (not sure) - 60 $

My setup is based on the Ryzen 2400G, and I assume it consumes a maximum of 120-150 W when I'm gaming, which I do rarely. The Be Quiet PSU looks the best to me, as the website lists all the protections it has. However, I'm not familiar with the designation (CM), which is mentioned in the tier list, and the price seems different compared to the B tier. Is it really the model mentioned in tierlist?

Thank you.

Edit: I found out that be quiet! PSU from B tier is the semi modular one, its different model. So this one is ruled out i think?

What country are you in? At a $50-75 price range, a slightly used midrange PSU would be a great choice. I generally see cx-550/cx-500m units going for about that price and both are solid units.

CX550 is not better than a Pure Power 11 and a CX500M is a lot worse than the XPG and MSI OP found himself.

I'm from Poland, the power supplies you recommended I can find here for less than $50. Are you sure that buying a used power supply is a good idea?

So would XPG Pylon be the best option then?
