Can not install an OS on my current motherboard/cpu/ram

Spec MSI B360M PRO-VDH

8gb Ram

i5 8th gen

I have been battling with a PC I have recently built to get it to install any operating system. Initally I thought I had a bad version of Ubuntu. I since have tried new boot media as well as windows 10 and debian. Every installation freezes or spits out a number of random errors. I  instead plugged the SSD into my PC and installed Ubuntu through my PCs motherboard and ram etc. Then hooked it back up to my 'newly' built machine, this loaded up and then launch Ubuntu in emergency mode.

I am baffled as to what the issue is. Is my motherboard screwed? It was second hand but my friend that gave it to me never experienced these issues.

Another thing to mention when i tried installing windows 10 i got vertical orange an white lines all over the screen on boot.

Is someone able to give me some guidance on this. I have been trying to get this work every night for the last week!

Without specific error messages, nobody can help you.

No dGPU ? If you got orange bars and stuff I'd say the CPU has an issue

Here is the current error I get when trying to boot into Ubuntu(see attached photo). Before I installed it using another pc I had plenty of errors and crashed installations too . When I tried a windows 10 install it just froze

Something else to note is that when I plug my Ram into the ‘primary’ slots. The system won’t post and the dram and cpu light flash on the mobo

Further update:

I have changed the CPU and memory neither has solved my issue. Is this likely to be a motherboard fault? If so what can I try to fix it ?
