Expo Enabled Crashes PC, But No Expo Crashes Games

KingBananas

Just built this PC and everything was working great until I tried jumping into a round of Warzone. When I join servers, my game crashes but doesn't give an error code. I can sit in the lobby and talk with my party, but the second we go from "searching" to in a lobby its almost like the game closes.

Attempts so far (some a little weird);

  1. Uninstall game
  2. Change name of game so I can show battlenet what folder to read from
  3. Change the number of threads the game can read in File: "options.3.cod22.cst" .change the number of threads to the same as your CPU:
    • // Thread count for handling the job queue
      RendererWorkerCount:0.0 = "6" // -1 to 16
  4. Updated drivers for GPU
  5. Updates Windows
  6. Q.Flash bios update
    • This made it so the PC wouldn't post. To fix this, I took out the battery on the motherboard while the PC was unplugged. Counted to 5 and put it back in. New Bios was downloaded and everything working perfect. Other than the game still crashed
  7. Went to motherboard bios to turn on EXPO
  8. When EXPO was on, my PC won't load Windows and I get a series of different types of blue screens
  9. Go back into Bios to turn EXPO off and Windows can boot again.

What should I do next? All I want is to play some Warzone without it crashing along with using my ram at its full potential.

Thanks!

When you enable EXPO, are you able to boot from a USB stick ?

If this is the case, you probably have a corrupted Windows or corrupted bootloader. You can try a repair but I recommend a clean install.

Have a nice day !

Update: I re-installed the motherboard Bios and re-installed Windows. I am able to launch the game and play, however, I am still unable to turn on EXPO from my ram. I'm still running into the same error:

  • If Expo is off, computer works fine
  • If Expo is on, Windows will fail to boot and either my motherboard will tell me to change my bios to an earlier version or I will get a windows blue recovery screen.

Any thoughts on how to fix this Expo issue?
