"Work"... technically yes if you're lucky with the garbage tier stuff...

"Work well"... hell no. 

 

If you have >$100K to buy HDDs you'd want something better to run them.

I currently don't have the money for 432 hard drives but want to start, slow for now

so this might take me a couple of years to complete thou.

 

I just want to find the best way to do an project for a cloud server, I know this is not proper tier to do this kind of this, am just using what I currently have avail

Used e.g. Epyc-based server with lots of PCIe slots, SAS HBAs in them as needed, and external disk shelves you can add as you go
