The All AMD 1K / 2K € PC build

DanTot

Budget (including currency): 1000€ / 2000€ version

Country: Italy (shipment from other EU countries should be also fine)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly triple AAA games with no pvp, streaming and capturing the video on hd, and the non-professional edit on DaVinci

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

completely new pc and monitor, target would be 1440p / 144hz gaming and the occasional stream on Twitch for friends, and I would probably buy the parts around November; if the 1000€ build wouldn't be able to support both gaming and decent streaming, I have an old Z620 with a 1060 for capturing video via NDI or capture card.

Hello everyone!

I am opening this thread to better understand the various possible configurations with an AM5 platform.

From what I got from various sources, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Radeon RX 7900 are not necessary for 1440p and simultaneous stream (stream would be anyway at 1080p), DDR5 is not working well with AM5 above 5200MT/S, nVidia should not have my money and I agree, but for Resizable BAR there is still no clear advantage.

As for the case, the Fractal "wife approved" North would be nice, and for cooler/RGB I am open to any suggestion.

Thanks for the help and sorry for any typos/grammar errors.

PS: reading back what I have written, I think that the 1000€ build with new 144p monitor is pratically impossible 😅

Possible, but it'd all be a used build on AM4 platform.

I've gone a bit overbudget thinking of all the nice benefits I'd like to see while not cutting corners. Main one being a 4TB M.2 so you'd have enough storage for all the games, hopefully for the lifetime of the PC. Some premium versions of cooler and GPU to keep down on temps, thus better cooled thus quieter. Worth it in my opinion but if 2000eur is max cap, then could probs go with an AK620 cooler, drop the 4TB M.2, getting a PSU that's non modular/Semi and going with a barebones 7800XT:

Ok, that's a nice setup but I would change some stuff.

I won't need the 4TB for sure, because if I install all games I would like to play, I will re-enter the never ending circle of not finishing any game. And I don't need a PCI5 ssd for now.

Isn't the ram too fast for AM5 platform? Will it automatically adjust to a lower speed or will I find my self in some trouble?

Can you suggest a nice 1440p 144hz monitor to fit in the budget (without the 4tb ssd)? I don't need it to be enourmous or curved, something around 27"-32".

Thanks again for your help.
