I recently bought a B650E-I motherboard but the retention brackets where removed and so I need to buy a new one, I can only find them for AM4 boards, would this work or are they different?

After getting an AM4 bracket I can safely say they DO NOT fit, I ended up ordered an original AM5 bracket and 3D printing one to use in the mean time 🙂

quick note: I took the motherboard to a repair shop to see if they had any and they gave me “original AM5” and it didn’t fit. It seems the ITX board and non-ITX boards have slightly different shaped Brackets

Can't you just get another cooler, that's not using the brackets? Almost all AIO's and air coolers doesn't use the brackets.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT with custom 3D printed AIO mount, X62 | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Noctua NH-D15

You can also just 3D print the original bracket if you have access to a 3D printer. I did this for my wife’s computer at one point. I replaced the cpu cooler not long ago and was able to toss the printed bracket. It held up great - I printed it in petg.

If you're talking about the plastic clips, they should be identical between the two, but like stated, I think the better solution is just to buy one of the myriad of coolers that doesn't use the plastic clips. They're okay for mounting, but generally, cooling solutions that mount to the backplate itself are superior.

Without knowing the dimensions, I would not assume they are inter-compatible. Even if they're likely the same, if they're not, you're back at square one. You're better off buying one that was originally for AM5.

ASUS might be willing to send you one if unable to locate one.

Hi all, I know this thread is a little old, but does anyone have the specs to 3D print AM5 Retention Brackets?
