Hello,
I purchased a Logitech 304 mouse 3 months ago, and while it initially worked well, I have noticed some issues with inconsistent clicking. Specifically, when I try to drag a file or item, I have to apply more significant pressure to the left button.
I have already tried to reinstall the Logitech software, but the issue persists.
Can you offer any assistance or advice on how to resolve this problem? Thank you.

Most likely worn out / broken switch

It sounds like a hardware problem rather than a software problem.

I think you can test the mouse on some testing website, like this one I found that is the current top pick from google search: https://www.onlinemictest.com/mouse-test/, click the mouse slowly and see how many click it is registering. If it is registering multiple click from a single physical click, or not registering click when you click it, I think the switch is failing.

If the mouse is only 3 months old, and you are able to contact the seller, I think it's best to ask them to sort it out.

At the meant time, if you really have to stick with this mouse, I think there are software that can force the system to ignore clicks that's clearly too quick for human input. I have not used those for ages so I am not sure which one you should use, but if you need more help I can spend a bit more time to research on this for you.

I tested the mouse on some sites clicks were not inconsistent, it is mostly a problem when dragging something

however after removing and reinserting the cell, now it is working fine,
I generally face this issue whenever I work on Unreal Engine or blender
but still, I contacted the seller and mailed him about the issue
thanks for the help.

Ah I see. That is really weird indeed. At the moment I am not sure what the problem might be, sorry not being able to be more helpful! But if possible do let us know how you resolve the problem if you resolve it at all, it could be quite interesting.

Hey, I fixed it! I watched a YouTube video where the guy added WD40. Since I didn't have any, I added some mineral oil instead and now it's working great!

LMAO. WD40 on an electronic device? Is there anything they cant do!?

Jokes aside, if that fixes it, it does look like is the sensor failing, if it is acting up again after this maybe it's time for a sensor change if possible. Doesn't take that much skill soldiering this, even a monkey like me can do it.
