Need some guidance regarding which laptop to choose !

Hi everyone,

 

I have the choice between 2 high end gaming laptops, the hp shadow elf 9 plus (hp omen 17 2023) with an intel i7 13700hx and nvidia rtx 4080 and the lenovo Y9000K 2022 (legion 7i gen 7 2022) intel i9 12900hx and Nvidia rtx 3080ti. I can't decide if buying the omen is worth it (15-20% more) just for the rtx4080. I plan on playing AAA games like starfield, the witcher and cyberpunk ( and other incoming games !) in 1440p. I have no issue regarding the portability but I want a rather future proof laptop (5 years at least before it becomes obsolete), about the design, I like both of them.

I'd get the lenovo in this case as the 4080 mobile performs about 15% better than the 3080 ti. I'd personally get the lenovo but the hp may be a better buy for slightly lower power consumption 

 

Are you in the US btw? and what's your budget for this laptop?

I'm in china, the hp is around 1400€(1500$) and the lenovo is 1250€(1300$).

I’d say the Lenovo then. But they’re both well priced imo

The shop guy made me an offer, those are display laptops.

As for the choice between both, will the 3080ti last as long as the 4080 before becoming outdated ?(probably main concern)

Most likely yes. Is they’re storage and ram the same?

Yes, 1TB, 32 gb ram. And battery perf isn't a problem, I mainly use it as desktop and sometimes take it to the uni.

Then the Lenovo might be the best option imo. Since the 3080 ti mobile has 16gb of vram instead of 12 I’d get that one
