230v only

mohcin

In the psu tierlist its b tier if full range but if 230v only its c tier I live in a country where the supply voltage is 230v so does that make it normal to use or is there other issues than just the supply voltage that make it a c tier

I mean if it can't accept the full voltage range that means that the construction of the unit differs from the units that can. At the very least some intermediate stage in the voltage conversion process is completely different and that can have an impact on the stuff after it.

At the very least, given how most DC power supplies in use today can accept a fairly wide voltage range (hell, even tiny USB chargers) i'd be fairly sketched out by a PSU that can only take 230V, at least on principle.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

generally, a unit that's single voltage is likely constructed more cheaply, because high quality designs can account for a very wide range of input voltages either way.

Its ok, just a standard PSU. 42A on 12V, nothing fancy, ketchup and mustard cables. You should be able to find something with black cables at least, unless it's not available in your market.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT with custom 3D printed AIO mount, X62 | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Noctua NH-D15

The MSI is a decent unit. What's your CPU and GPU?

Those are the best, at least we have ONE manufacturer that actually cares about colour code. Well, I work with electronics so a black wire automatically means ground, all the wires being black is... confusing, such a dumb trend in my eyes, form over function and all that, meh.

6600. The 580 is about to become a relic.

While I do agree that it's handy if you want to sleeve your own wires, it isn't something the average joe consider important and cooler masters more expensive options is also all back cables.

Of those the MSI PSU is the one closest to deliver 550W on the 12V rail at 45.5A, the CV almost the same at 44A. I would go with the MSI one as it should have a better fan. The Antec one being the worst and also hiding its specs the most. Had to search on google to find the specs...
