Good CPU/MB/Ram for a RX 6750XT?

Budget (including currency): $500 + -

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077, No Mans Sky, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Metro Exodus, Witcher 3, Crysis (2007), etc

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Recently bought a MSI RX 6750XT Twin to upgrade my GPU and get Starfield for free.

Goal: To get really solid 1440p 60Hz v-sync gaming at high/ultra on new titles.

History:

Gamed with an i5-4440 and Zotac 1060 AMP 6GB on a BioStar HiFi B85N (version 5.2) since 2017. I knew the i5 was a bottle neck but I had no idea how bad until recently.

Planned to buy better 1150 CPU and 1150 MB. These would be my "new to me" gaming parts and the BioStar MB was to be retired to a pfsense firewall.

I bought a CPU, but never could find another 1150 MB I wanted.

Current:

I bought a MSI RX 6750XT Twin, a used i7-4790, and a Thermaltake SPD-750 PSU.

With my old system the i5 was a crazy bottleneck for the 1060. I didn't know how bad until I got the i7. It really opened up the 1060 and I felt like an idiot for not upgrading the CPU years ago. I don't want to make the same mistake with the 6750. I've tried to research this but I'm really bad at it. Gaming with a bottlenecked system since 2017 tells you I'm bad at picking out parts, and I am poor.

I've spent a month trying to decide a part list and I keep going back to looking at used 1150 MBs even though I know for a fact that isn't a good idea for the 6750. I'm just dumb.

I would really appreciate some help picking out an AMD CPU, MB, and Ram to go with my new 6750. I'm willing to spend what it takes to find an optimal paring without the need for future proofing. I game on a 4K 47" tv at 60Hz with HDR. My goal is to get really solid 1440p 60Hz v-sync gaming at high to ultra on new titles.

I don't have a defined budget. I want a good paring that isn't over the top with features. I would like to use Smart Access Memory and am willing to spend money for fast tight memory (16GB or 32GB) and a MB that can use it. I don't need wifi but it's okay if not much more. Optical audio out would be a big bonus. And I think I'll end up buying a Samsung 990 Pro SSD for OS and a few games.

Please save me from the prison I put myself in when I bottlenecked my 1060 for the last 6 years!!!

I am in the exact same boat.  I have a Gigabyte RX 6750XT and to upgrade the mobo and cpu I am currently drawn to the Asus B650E-F along with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D.  I haven't gotten to the ram yet.  Take a look at these two items, maybe they are what you're looking for.  Right now I can get those two for just a little under the $600 mark.

Take care and good luck.

Hey @kb5zue! Thanks for the reply. I want the 5800X3D but I'm worried it might be overkill.

If the 5600X or 5800X is all we need (or even less) I'm fine with that. I'm not looking to future proof just to match a equivalent CPU with my 6750XT.

Edit: I'm looking to hit 99% with both my CPU and GPU simultaneously and to minimize the random frame drops as much as I can. The used i7 I recently got is night a and day to my old i5 but I hope I can squeeze more FPS by going with an all AMD setup

Thanks for the reply.  With my current setup I get 70 - 75 fps on World of Warcraft.  It is the only game I play.  I would hope that upgrading the MOBO, CPU, and RAM that things would improve a bunch.  With those upgraded I would hope that I would be future proofing my setup for quite a while.  After all, I am 68, soon to be 69 in a couple of months.  My wife keeps hoping that I will grow up soon so if I do this upgrade then I should be covered for just about as long as I am on this great green earth.

Take care my friend, and good luck.
