ALIENWARE 34 CURVED QD-OLED GAMING MONITOR - AW3423DW OR

ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM

Building new setup, i cant decide what monitor to buy from this 2, i want high qualiti HDR i never played on 21:9 so im afraid if i buy alienware maybe i would not like it and that would be costly mistake, plus i knew a lot of games don't support 21:9, but evry rewiew i watched they say Alienware is a beter monitor for adventure single player games wich i play the most, but i also play cod, pubg, dota, fortnite from time to time, watch movies, i don't care that much about hz is it 175hz or 240hz i don't think i can tell a difference, i also planing to start striming, i do have 7900xtx, ryzen 7700x, b650 steel legend, 6000mhz cl30 ddr5, m.2nvme 1tb so can anyone help me what to chose? Any recommendations?

The DW is QD-OLED while the QDM is just a normal OLED. You also get 21:9 with the DW. Also you should be getting the DWF instead of the DW

I would go with the PG27AQDM if you’re not sure about 21:9, just make sure that if you’re going to start streaming that you have enough room for the chat and everything that comes with that, and if you don’t maybe think about getting the Alienware. About 175 vs 240 hz though, with your hardware you will probably be able to utilize 240 hz rather than 175. For me, I would go with the PG27AQDM.

I would personally choose the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM because I hate ultrawide monitors, and QD-OLED is new whereas regular OLED has matured.

From a really quick Google search, QD-OLED is more prone to burn-in than OLED, but I'm sure there's more to the story than reading a couple of sentences.

QD-OLED is only beneficial for color accuracy in very brightly-lit areas, and a higher peak brightness. It's a difference you would only notice if you were comparing OLED and QD-OLED side by side. Which means it's pointless, impractical difference. Get the OLED.

So qd-oled has lees brightness and worse HDR than asus and it can easier burn in? Well i go with asus than, i wanted to try 21:9 but it would be expensive mistake if I don't like it, it's better to stick to classic and familiar i gues

QD-OLED has a Quantum Dot layer that gives it better color accuracy, especially at higher brightness. It is also capable of getting brighter than OLED due to its different method of displaying colors.

But the improved colors, in my opinion, is a small difference compared to regular OLED.

Either is ok. What you need to decide is 16:9 or 21:9.

The Alienware is around 1.5 units of Asus. Both height is same.

For brightness is never an issue especially no issue for HDR content.

It is not as bright as mini-LED but it still bright enough even on normal lightning environment.

It's only brighter than LG WRGB OLED monitor, it certainly isn't brighter than a QD-OLED panel. Especially when it comes to colour volume (colour brightness.) This mean significantly dimmer looking day time scenes, WRGB OLED really struggles in game like Forza 5 where you are in a bright outdoor condition nearly all the time.

The PG27AQDM could still be better for your use case though as it has 240hz which can benefit esport title by a lot and while colours maybe a problem, it's still bright enough for an OLED.
