Monitor dilemma

Hi I plan to make a Gaming PC this summer but after choosing parts I’ve realised I have no idea what to do about a monitor.I didn’t realise just how tricky and deceptive some of these manufacturers are and to be honest I’m kind of intimidated.What should I do ?The easiest answer would just get a high end monitor from a big brand,but those things are expensive and I’m working on a budget,but if i go for a cheap monitor not only is it more risky but I really don’t want to bottleneck my other components (5700x & 6750) by buying a crappy monitor Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and do tell me if you think I’m being unreasonable

There are other operations than expensive top end and low end and cheap.

 

What do you think you want in a monitor? 

Do you care about Hz or resolution the most, or so you want both?

monitors are a bit tricky, buying a big brand doesn't guarantee a good monitor (samsung for example is know for their "marketing", it also depends on what you prioritize. For starters id look at the 24G2 or the 27GL83A-B

If very tide budget, I suggest you go for AOC 24G2SP. A solid and value SDR 165hz 24" 1080p monitor.
