Posted June 8 Does anyone here happen to know if the hole placement for E-ATX motherboards or other varieties of nonstandard large motherboards is the same as it is for ATX motherboards? Posted June 8 Depends on the motherboard. Most of them are, yes, but when you get to some of the comically large boards like the ROG Dominus Extreme or EVGA Classified SR2 then they can start using extra non-ATX screws and form factors like SSI-EEB. Posted June 8 Yes, the main difference is typically that the board itself is wider than a standard ATX board. The issue with eATX and other larger motherboard sizes is that until you get up to SSI-EEB, CEB, and MEB, there's basically no standardization whatsoever in terms of dimensions, so some cases will fit some eATX boards but not others. There is very little consistency for motherboards between ATX and SSI-EEB. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3566-e-atx-is-a-lie-vs-xl-atx-eeb-ceb Quote or tag me( @Crunchy Dragon) if you want me to see your reply If a post solved your problem/answered your question, please consider marking it as "solved" Community Standards // Join Floatplane! Those boards are listed as EEB and HPTX respectively. They are not listed as E-ATX. Even though E-ATX is not a defined size the manufacturers use it to indicate that the screw holes are the same as ATX with the board being wider. The standard 9 screw holes should line up, there are just 3 that are different.
Posted June 8 Usually EATX are just wider than ATX ... rarely they're also a bit longer vertically, maybe one extra slot worth of vertical space Majority of motherboards will keep the screw holes in the same locations as ATX and have extra screw holes on the right edge, but you can use nylon spacers or other methods to make sure the board doesn't flex and touches the metal of the case. Just be sure the motherboard doesn't have bumps or some stupid shapes to the back plate that could block the motherboard.
