Possible mesh with this setup?

37748585862723896

Area covers 2 floors and there is a lan port connecting them

Currently I have a asus rt3000 as main, connect to 2nd router Dlink 859 through the wired wall

My internet speed is just 50Mbps, so sped / latency isnt a big concern

Since the 2 routers are different brands , what sort of setup can I do?

Rename same name to the 2 routers and pw ?

Do they both support mesh networking? The routers need to both be compatible with mesh networking in order to use them together. Maybe check to see if one or both have AP only mode, that way one is the router and main wifi and the other is just an access point.

I think only asus do , the other dlink is too old

Since they are now connected through lan cable, what can I do?

See if the Dlink has an AP only mode, if not you can't really do much. You're better off just buying an access point to use. Than trying to use that old Dlink.
