USB-A port on a laptop not working

Mlady Swagalot

Plugging in any device into the usb-a port does nothing. It's on a laptop. Last time I had this issue I power cycled it and it fixed it but this time it doesn't. Checked for updates, checked the drivers everything up to date. Laptop: Lenovo legion 5 pro

I am refering to the port labeled number 5, that is closer to the ethernet port.

I reinstalled drivers, removed devices, tried plugging in other devices into the same port.

Didn't fix anything.

what surprises me is that it did work and I was able to fix it last time. It's not like I abuse my laptop, it sits in the same spot all the time.
