only thing i can think of is thats its a little speaker that u can use like amazon alexa, or google voice assisten on mobile, but as hardware

It's a thermostat for heating and cooling, not a speaker.

Not as disappointing as it's user interface. You basically have to use the app as trying to use the thermostat itself is an exercise in frustration.  I've tried several smart thermostats now and the Nest is easily the worst physical interface I've used.

That actually depends on the technology you use. In my case, i would argue they usually don`t. You don`t have to serve them everything on a silver platter.

i mean every big company already knows everyhing lol, i dont mind if tey steal the info they have already stolen in the past

If you already have a permanently listening microphone connected to Google in your house, it doesn`t make much of a difference. But if you don`t you don`t have to install one. I only have one, when somebody with a phone with stock Google-Android comes to visit. And even those don`t have a permanent live stream to Google like the Nest stuff has.
