Installing macos monterey taking long

Hello, I have no idea how to use a mac so I'm asking here. My install time for macos monterey on an m1 macbook air is taking 3 hours and the time barely goes down. I have 100mbps internet so that isn't an issue.

 

Any ideas on what to do or try?

Sounds like it's probably stalled somewhere. Clicking the cancel button and starting over is safe. I forget how long it took me to setup my M1 Air, but it for sure wasn't that long.

Disclaimer: it’s been a while since I installed Monterey.

 

That said, there should be a log window option under the Window menu, and you can choose to see all messages, or just errors and progress. This may help.
