LTT Labs Backwards Hardware Testing

Hi All

I was just watching the LTT Labs videos and i know Linus wants the LTT Labs to kill userbench mark so it got me wondering if the Labs will be going back to test older CPUs and GPUs with newer CPUs and GPUs.

Would the Labs team be testing a 40 series GPU with an older CPU like 6 or 7th gen Intel or even older.

I could see as graphics has gotten better that someone would choose to upgrade there graphics card but not there CPU or even have a lower end CPU but have a higher end GPU in comparison.

Personally i enjoy when LTT play with older tech or find a new use for an older tech device to extend its life span.

Just don't get scammed this time if they have to buy older CPUs and GPUs from ebay  like Linus did with the Xeon CPUs a few years ago.

They mentioned in a recent WAN Show(?) that when the review new graphics cards, they will also re-test a bunch of older graphics cards with the latest drivers so that people can make the most informed decision as to how new and cards actually compare since drivers makes huge performance differences.

They didn't mention anything about CPUs but I imagine it's something they would at least consider in the future.

This is why LMG has all the older hardware. But the main question will be, where's the limit. I don't there are very many 8800GT's around in gaming machines even used. I think 660Ti is the oldest GPU thats somewhat worth to still run. So going older than 10 years probably not really bringing much value in terms of data gain. With CPUs, same thing pretty much.
