we looking to see if the HP s2031 is working with a gaming monitor. Does it work at gaming?

HP brands some of the worst monitor products that I have ever seen. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Yes you can play video games on this like you can on any monitor. It's an attractive price point... I will give you that (which should make you worry).

 

If it's all you can afford then go for it. If you can afford anything from LG, Samsung, Acer, ASUS, or even Philips, then you will be buying a better product.

This monitor is antique, it was release in year 2010 with only DVI and VGA cable, only 20" with very low resolution which is not even Full HD, TN panel and 60hz.

 

Off course you can play games in any monitor but such resolution may not support some newer games and it is 60hz only, probably you may facing many tearing issue. 

 

Not recommended even for normal productivity usage.
