Alienware 34 Curved OLED Monitor AW3423DW freezes computer

I'm having an issue with my computer that almost EVERY SINGLE time i turn off my monitor and the computer is still on (say i'm letting a game download and turn the monitor off while it downloads) my entire PC will freeze after a minute or two and all my RGP fans will change back to white and the computer becomes completely frozen until i hit the reset button on the case to restart the PC. It happens almost every single time but NEVER happens when i'm using my TV as a monitor. I've downloaded drivers, I've reset to factory settings, i've made sure video drivers were upodated, i've changed Display Port Cables and nothing has seemed to work. Again, this only happens with this monitor and the previous alienware (same 34 inch non oled version). I dont know what else to do and we already know from videos how terrible the Dell customer service team is. I love this monitor and want to keep it but at this rate i'm debating on taking it back to microcenter and trying a different OLED monitor.

Take it back to micro center and buy a different OLED monitor. Don't buy products from Dell and HP no matter how much they pay advertisers.

sounds like some kinda conflict with the gpu drivers and how the monitor's wired, use screensavers instead of turning the monitor off.

Try connect using HDMI. 

 

I got similar issue on my Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 monitor as well where freeze when monitor go to sleep mode when using DP, this problem only solved yesterday after I upgrade the monitor firmware.
