Where to plug in USB3.1 on mobo?

The connector labeled 14 is the correct one for a usb-c front connector (so usb 3.2 gen 2)

And the connector labeled 15 is the usb 3.2 gen 1 connector (usually USB-A). You can easily see which one of them is correct for the cable you have.

I've read the manual but I don't quite understand where to plug in the USB3.1 that came with the Phanteks Eclipse P600s case. The mobo I'm using is the B660 GAMING X AX DDR4.

 

Heres the link to the manual mb_manual_b660-gaming-x-series_e_1001.pdf (gigabyte.com)

 

Would appreciate if you can tell me if page 14 is the answer to my situation since I'm unsure.

Ty that makes more sense now since its the only usb looking plug on the mobo.

You're welcome. Tbh, connector 15 and 16 for that matter (16 is USB 2), don't really look like USB at all ._. so it isn't really designed to be intuitively understood.

This is a pretty obvious answer but I still wanna make sure so I don't make any mistakes.

Yes, that is correct.

 

The new naming convention is

usb 3.2 gen 1 -> 5 Gbits (what you are currently showing)

usb 3.2 gen 2 -> 10 Gbits (the other connector you already plugged in)

usb 3.2 gen 2x2 -> 20 Gbits, doesn't have a connector as far as I'm aware.

 

As you can see, they randomly renamed all the USB 3 standards to USB 3.2 ...
