If this is a build log this should be in the build logs section not new builds and planning

The 1700x severely bottlenecks the 3060. It would bottleneck the 6600 less.

But I wouldn't change. I'd sell the 6600 and the 1700x and get a 5600 or 5700X.

Honestly didn't think about that, so when if I have money ever again I'll definitely get a 5700X, I was planning on stuffing my 6600 into a secondary PC for streaming/lighter workloads, I have an RX 570 & Ryzen 5 2400G that I need to sell, I know I won't get much for it but hey it's something

I'm interested in your average GPU usage across a couple of newer games.

I was getting an average FPS of 58.6 in EFT on high settings with my RX 6600 and 56 in Elite: Dangerous on medium, but a whopping 888.88 in Star Wars Republic Commando ('05) 😄

Making a to-do list for myself since I know I'll be coming back to this thread later to upload finished pictures:

  1. update BIOS
  2. Remove the disk drive from the old case and temporarily plug it into the new motherboard.
  3. update all the drivers (SATA controllers first) (check tomahawk box for driver disk)
  4. enable XMP for the ram
  5. slightly overclock cpu (optional, REAPPLY THERMAL PASTE FIRST)
  6. reinstall missing software (game launchers, discord, OBS, OBS plugins)
  7. sacrifice a goat to Klang

If anyone can think of things that I might have forgotten, quote this with suggestions
