HEVC Video Extension not working

I've installed HEVC Video Extension from MS Store. But It's not working for some reason. I tried to reset, also reinstall it. So anyone have any idea why?.

I recorded H.265 format videos on obs for better quality. But it's shows media offline on Resolve 18(free version). I search on YouTube about that, they says you've to install HEVC Video Extension for playing those h.265 videos. Windows Media Player also not playing h.265 either.

So need some help for that.

Can you elaborate on "not working"? Can Windows Media Player (or whatever it is called nowadays) not play HEVC files or is there something else not working?

Hmm, for playback you can possible try another player like VLC.

For Resolve, what file format and bit-depth is it in? Resolve's codec support document only mentions support for 8-bit H.265 files in mov or mp4 containers:

Pretty sure those "extensions" are for windows photos app only. Something like Klite codec pack is what you need.

I am not sure what your source file is exactly but I haven’t had issues with editing h265 media in Resolve as far as I can remember

I just record some of my gameplay footage on HEVC format in obs, that's it. Also I'm using Resolve 18 free version though.

Do you've install HEVC Extension on your system??

  • 2 weeks later...

I installed HEVC Extension to play h.265 videos but it's not working for some reason. So I tried to reset it, also reinstall it again. But nothings work for me. VLC work fine, it's play well any h.265 videos but I need HEVC Extension to work cause without the codec DaVinci Resolve 18 can't run h.265 videos.

So anyone can help me please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
