Generated by PCPartPicker 2023-03-31 09:38 EDT-0400

Budget (including currency): 700-800 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, GTA V, and some light video editing and maybe streaming in the future

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am confused between i7-12700K, i5-13600K or Ryzen 7600X. For now i will be using integrated gpu and will add a dedicated gpu once the 4060 is released(gpu budget is excluded). Also it would be nice to have a future proof system if i need to upgrade sometime in 2 years

Is the 7600 better than 12700K?

And in the second build, instead of B660M, the Z690M i selected is better, right?

what makes you believe that 40 series mid range cards are going to be bad?

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
I'm learning video editing and trying to get some cash as a high school student.
I like F1, my favourite team is Scuderia Ferrari and favourite driver is Charles Leclerc. Favourite track is Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Playing with a 1080p 60hz monitor right now, hoping to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz one soon.

Living in AU and that pisses me off since every event is late at night or early in the morning (almost every F1 race starts around 11 PM AEST time)

Its still up in the air on whether 4060 or 7700XT would be a good performance per dollar value, and the release date is still up in the air. Id rather save up at 1300$ range and then build one or fully wait till the 4060 and 7700XT numbers are out. We dont even know 4070 figures.

radeon has actually gotten really good in the past few years, i would recommend getting a 6800xt. heres the setup i am planning to build myself, and i think it would work for you https://pcpartpicker.com/user/seomen/saved/7VNckL

you dont need an aio for anything but i9 cpus or heavy oc jobs just get an nh-d15 or peerless assassin

MARK THE SOLUTION AS SOLUTION

i am 14 so i may be wrong sometimes

honestly, for the money, currently its better to go with something like the 13600k but its pretty limited by ddr4 memory so maybe the 12700k is a better option

Okay so thank you everyone for helping!! I think i am gonna go with 12700K (to save a bit) and pair it with ddr5 and as for the gpu, if 4060 is good, i will go with it or 6800xt looks great.
