No display drivers/AMD drivers cause my laptop to be unusable

UMFD0

So after i reinstalled windows on my laptop (ASUS G15 G513IC-HN003) I wanted to install drivers on it. I only got the Nvidia graphics driver installed, but it didnt really do anything, as my external display seemed to not be connected to that dedicated GPU, more like it was connected to iGPU. And that meant i was stuck with no acceleration and my 75hz display could only display uhh... 1hz??? (actually it was 64hz but shh, picture no. 1). So then I decided to download AMD drivers from their website (Windows Update didn't want me to download drivers through it, it was detecting an AMD update, but clicking "Download" did nothing), got them installed, aaand... Blue screen on every startup. It originally was a CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error, but now it just displays a black screen (monitor does get a signal tho for some reason, picture no. 2). What should i do?

Have you messed around in the BIOS as of late perhaps?

I sometimes wonder how we went to space on only 4KB RAM, and we cannot fix a simple issue.

For laptops it's probably best to install drivers from the laptop manufacturer, as they usually customize things about IO and control schemes. I remember when I had an ASUS laptop, only drivers from ASUS directly would work because of Optimus.

alright alright, depends what you think's funny 😉

From my limited BSOD experiences the Watchdog one is the shittiest to solve, if its even possible

Also, does the laptop even see the gpu?

it sees umm NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU, and Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, which i presume is my iGPU without drivers

What if you go to Display Adapter properties and uninstall all its drivers? and try again?

Making sure to also disable the iGPU in Device manager?

Maybe that' ll help?

uninstalling Microsoft Basic Display Adapter seemed to replace it with AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics, but then installing the automatic driver replaces it back with the microsoft's one. Also disabling the display device did nothing

Try disable Window Update and install the one from AMD website.

Thats pretty odd...

What if you dont install the automatic driver, and try the Nvidia one again?

If you have an extra USB drive lying around, try download Pop_OS! and boot into LiveUSB. If similar thing happen there, the iGPU is kaput imo.
