quest 2 link cable detecting usb c as usb 2 tried everything please help

when plugging link cable with adapter into usb a it detects usb 3 but when plugging straight into type c because it is usb c to usb c cable it detects as usb 2, motherboard is b450 gaming 2 and im 100% sure that usb type c on this board is at least 3.2

USB 3.0 link speeds require certain physical connections. Last time I went shopping for type C to type C cables, all the budget friendly ones were 2.0 speeds only unfortunately.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

yeah but why does it detects as usb 3 on usb a but not on type c

i think i might have found the problem my motherboards type c ports simply isnt even in device manager no idea why or how to fix it

title says it all tbh, motherboard is asus b450 gaming 2 and it has usb c port which i want to use for quest 2 but it works as usb 2. the problem i found is that port isnt in device manager and i have no idea how to fix it. any ideas?

i would look at a solution towards the motherboard drivers, I think you may need to try the chipset ones. Maybe updating the bios otherwise? I doubt that solves it but that's about it

If the USB A cable is USB 3.0, but the USB C cable is USB 2.0, that would explain it.

A USB port typically won't show up in device manager as far as I know. Only the USB controller that manages multiple ports, and any single device that may already be plugged into a USB port
