Hello everyone, I will try to follow the guide lines to make this somewhat painless as possible. xD

1. Budget & Location

I Live in the US and looking at keeping it around $3,000, but will go as much as $4,000 though I did want to save a little bit for a monitor.

2. Aim

I am wanting to build a PC to run games on Ultra setting while streaming, and maybe one day do some video editing. I am a hardcore gamer so I anything from Cyber Punk. CoD, Minecraft, and a lot of indi games on steam so the graphics can very depending. lol

3. Monitors

I plan on buying one 4K monitor that I will use as a screen for my PS5 and X-box series X. I am not sure if that will be my main computer screen or not, I'm not looking to do 4K PC gaming.

4. Peripherals

I have Windows 11 on my computer now and hate it would want to get windows 10 again if possible.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Looking to upgrade I am rocking the AMD RX 5700 XT and I just want to start fresh with next gen with DDR5 and all the other fun stuff. I do have two builds that I have on Newegg that I made and would like some input. The only thing I don't want to get rid of is the NZXT H9 Elite ATX Mid Tower PC Gaming Case and the NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm Liquid Cooler I am sold 100 on the case and the screen on the Kraken liquid cooler.

I understand that you would like to have the NZXT H9 Elite, have you considered the NZXT H9 Flow? It's really the same case just with better airflow which is really important in a high end build.

I have been building PCs for over 30 years so if you have any questions please ask. For Future Communication I use Discord for much Faster Response Times as I have it open 24/7. I am also available if you need help before, during, or after the Build Process on Discord through Text,Voice, or Video Chat. I can be with you while you build your new PC if you need me to be. Didn’t know that was a thing they look the same, but anything with better airflow is a plus I’ll change that. Thank you

Thank you for the help!!! Had one question for gaming is there one that sticks out better then the other if I should pick AMD over Intel/GeForce build? Seems like there are a lot of videos talking about AMD being better overall unless you do pay top dollar for the RTX 4090 for 4K gaming?

6900 xt is cheaper and still pretty good for ray tracing and general performance, performs worse than 4080(of course) but still on par with 3080

you dont need an aio for anything but i9 cpus or heavy oc jobs just get an nh-d15 or peerless assassin

MARK THE SOLUTION AS SOLUTION

It's really a matter of opinion. Both builds I did will do 4K gaming but also deliver a stunning 1440p experience as well. You had said that you didn't want to do 4K on the PC so I went with that. If I had to choose one I would go with the AMD build because of the CPU. The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D is designed just for gaming in mind and offers the latest in high level L3 Cache for games. They have a AM4 chip and new AM5 ones on the way but right now this is the best you can get performance per dollar. AMD also has the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D but it's almost double the price and not worth the extra money.

If you wanted to game, stream, record, and render all at the same time this CPU can offer that. Intel can do the same thing with the 13th Gen i9 13900k but gaming performance  will go down if you do all that at once with the i9 because of the L3 Cache being so large on the AMD CPU, that's why I would go with the AMD build.

I'm on this board all day if I'm not already working on an actual build. I just wish I could build all the lists I put on here.

Some games prefer AMD, some intel, workload also matters. Hard to say which is better than the other. Honestly, you won't feel the difference when gaming. Both are very solid options.

4K PC gaming is certainly much better than 4K console gaming, especially since you have the budget for it.

I won't divide AMD or Intel build simply because you said you might want to do video editing, so you'd need a good gaming CPU with a lot of cores but at reasonable prices, so to me, AMD is out of the running. X3D CPUs are great, but with this hardware level, be prepared to shell out more for the monitor, otherwise a lot of those fps will only slightly improve input lag and not displaying it.

Not to mention that AMD GPUs are still not widely supported for productivity software.

If you want to save money, ditch the NZXT stuff, they're overpriced to hell.

If you insist on 1440p or 4070 Ti, but the 12GB VRAM on 4070 Ti is concerning for future games.

It seems that you have a preference for the Nzxt aesthetic. If so, you might consider an Nzxt motherboard that can provide native support for the lighting.
