Trying to help a friend find a mac.

I'm not a mac guy but my friend is trying to get a used apple product that is capable of 4k video editing on the cheap. I expect there's not going to be a good option in the 400 euro range but I'm asking for suggestions around that range. It doesn't have to be amazing just functional.

you could look at a used m1 mac mini. What country are you in for a bit more context?

The best thing to look at in this price range is likely an M1 Mac mini. eBay pricing for it is not much better mostly, so i would recommend going with an Apple refurbished model like this: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FGNR3LL/A/refurbished-mac-mini-apple-m1-chip-with-8‑core-cpu-and-8‑core-gpu?fnode=6760e315d983ce02616cc9970d53c94e22e01ee303c4988f38be1335532ca260cc9471e6a697bb3f4ece442f573126730689eb596d662f19d88e485afe22be2727c6f757843a69fe5a9eed0b50a0de09

It's about 430 Euro, but you'll also have to factor in the cost of a display and check local pricing and availability.

If your guy is on a real budget, (below 400 euro) the only real option is a used 2013 mac pro. Not the most reliable, but it can be patched to macOS Ventura and will offer similar performance to the M1 mac mini for around 320-380 euro and is also far more upgradable fairly cheaply.
