5900X or 5950X for streaming?

Hi.

 

I'm planning on building a secondary streaming/gaming pc and I don't know what CPU I should pick. I have leftover RTX 3080, 32gb (I think 3600mhz) of ram, and Asus crosshair VIII hero x570. I'm playing on 1440p monitor and I want to stream on 1080p 60fps. Both streaming and gaming would happen on this single pc. (I need both my main and secondary pc, so please don't ask why I don't just stream on my main pc)

 

I'm trying to pick between 5900x and 5950x, but I don't know if 4 extra cores on 5950x is worth it. I know that these CPUs are both on same level when talking only about gaming, but would streaming make a difference. Price difference between them is around $150. $350 for 5900x and $500 for 5950x.

 

I know that I should be using Nvidias encoding on OBS and this way the difference between those two CPUs should be even tinyer.

 

I would like to hear your input on this and why you recomment one or another. Thank you.

Strictly for a streaming PC? Just get a 5700X or even a 5600X. Streaming itself, especially if using the GPU, is not CPU intensive.

If you were CPU streaming on the same machine that runs the game, then the CPU would need many cores...

Neither, since it's a secondary PC for streaming, any decent CPU would do like R5 5600, just make sure that it has a GPU to record and stream.

Building a new PC with 5900X/5950X nowadays is terrible, 13600K/13700K is cheaper, newer, have more cores, and much faster than those two.

Yeah I agree that you shouldn't buy new build with 5900x/5950x. But like I said, I have the mobo and everything else for it just laying around. And 5900x and 5950x are the only CPUs that I can buy right away locally and don't want to go second hand route since I have been scammed before

 

5600 would only be $130, but can't get one easily/fast. I guess I will just go 5900x, since it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Which motherboard? Keep in mind, the 5900X is the most power hungry and heat producing AM4 CPU.

Asus crosshair viii hero. I mentioned it on the first post. I will pair it with 1000w psu and 100i from Corsair so the power sumption shouldn't be a problem.
