Hey all,

Last year I bought a used Gigabyte Aorus Master RTX3070 from a friend.
Runs fine, but lately i get really high temps for my likings comparing to last months.
Ambient temp is around 20 degrees celcius, but on load the default fan profile gives me around 80 degrees celcius and has a fanspeed of 90%.
Basicly bit scared for upcoming temps in the summer.

Undervolt works for now, which goes around 70/72 degrees with 85% fans. Still loud, but also makes me wonder what it will do when the ambient temp goes up.
Also placed a direct fan in the side panel that blows cold air on the GPU for now which seems to help a little.

Now I'm thinking about repasting the thermal paste, but I'm not sure if I should replace the thermal pads aswell.
What should you guys recommend? The GPU has no sensor in it for the memory temperature so I think i should not worry about that, even since its just default GDDR6 (memory clocks are just fine too).

Would love to hear your recommendations, would be the first time replacing thermal paste in a GPU, done it with CPU's alot.

If you are going to replace the thermal paste then you might as well replace the thermal pads. As for the rising ambient temperature that is seasonal. Since you can't control the weather. You could try moving your PC in the coldest room in the house or putting direct airflow into it to allow sufficient cooling. You could also replace the fans with Noctua fans. If you are willing to spend money.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Thanks for the answer! I'm probably going that route then.
Maybe also looking for a different case to see if that maybe does something if repasting does not get the desired results.
