I’m suspicious about this hard drive I bought from Amazon

It seems like a good deal, but if you are not satisfied for any reason, wipe it and return it to the seller

This “MaxDigitalData MDD” branded hard drive I bought from Amazon seems suspicious. The label on the drive says it rotates at 7200rpm while Crystal Disk info reports 5400rpm. The physical hard drive itself looks like an older WD drive with a new label slapped on it. I was thinking it could be used as this is an old WD model. I am pretty sure the seller changed the hard drive metadata to make it look like new. If there’s anybody else who bought this hard drive, how does it work for you? Is this hard drive safe to use?

Because that's exactly what it is.

Western Digital, Seagate, and Toshiba are the only hard drive manufacturers left. Any other branded drive is just one of theirs with a new sticker on it.

There are multiple companies out there erasing and recertifying used hard drives. Usually, they're fully functional. If you're unlucky, you'll get a dud and have to exchange it with them.

Is this a review? I don't see any testing, thoughts, options, product pictures taken by the reviewer. This seems like specs page was rewritten, and I don't see any info that wasn't pulled from the spec page.
