Event Viewer: "The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found" ? Anything to worry about?

Eireagon

Keep getting this error in event viewer, doesn't seem to be causing any pc issues, just weird. Should i just ignore it?

Anything to worry about? Get the odd mouse freeze when starting to many programs at once sometimes, very rare/ or sometimes when spamming game bar. / Discord froze the other day when i tabbed out from a game for a second. (Not sure if any of this is related.)

OK so I was a quite a few gpu drivers out of date, used DDU and updated the driver. Still don't get any crashes, got one in Spider-Man but ran fine for hours after, and none in cod mw and mw2 2022/ and still getting the same issue but less frequent like only happen every so often and tabbing out seems to be what causes it when it does it randomly and mostly from tabbing out of fifa 23/alt entering. Anything to worry about? A guy on reddit said it means my gpu is dying, but just ran fifa 23 for 5 hours (Got 7 errors in the space 5 hours in event viewer but no crashes (Think it's something to do with tabbing out/Alt enter and, spider-man for 2 hours, cod mw 2019 multiplayer and cod mw2 2022 multiplayer/warzone 2 and no crashes. Should i be concerned or just ignore it?

SFC/dism came back clean
Ran prime 95 overnight no crashes, passed memetest86/windows memory diagnostic and 3d mark perfectly.

" The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer "

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\000000c9

"Error occurred on GPUID: 100

I’ve seen similar errors when a virtual machine is contending for GPU resources.  It’s been benign for me.

Death before dishonour! Nothing before coffee!

I have a feeling it's to do with the latest Nvidia drivers. I got two of these same errors last night just sitting in Windows. Built my PC about 10 days ago, so originally installed the 531.18 drivers and had zero problems. Installed the new 531.29 ones on Monday, seemed to be ok when I used my PC for a few hours on Tuesday, then yesterday I get two of those errors in event viewer (within 5 mins of each other). A lot of people on Nvidia forums recently seem to reporting same issue since updating Nvidia drivers.

I performed a clean reinstall of the latest (531.29) drivers and haven't had event viewer report any of these errors again since, but obviously a bit early yet to tell if that's sorted it.

Are you on a 30/40 series card with a DDR5 setup?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 | M/B: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz CL36 | GPU: Asus 8GB GeForce RTX 3070 Dual OC V2 | SSD1: 1TB Seagate Firecuda 530 (PCIe 4.0) M.2 NVMe | SSD2: 2TB Crucial P3 (PCIe 3.0) M.2 NVMe | PSU: Corsair RMx 750W | Monitor: Asus VG27AQ1A (2560x1440 @ 165hz)
