I mean it works so yes. Use it, don't see how it could damage anything. If you did this do nothing and use it until it dies. If it came like this RMA it, regardless of if it works. But don't tell the producer it works

I dont know if I would trust it, it might cause a short or something, frying other components.

Realistically you shouldnt have to, but it is 8x pcie gen 4 so it might not be wired. So if this isnt because you detaching the GPU without unlocking the pcie slot lock on the side (common rookie fatal mistake), you could but should you is up to your risk management and tolerance.
