6800xt resolution and 2060 used price

is a 6800xt worth it at 1080p or is 1440p card? Also how much would a used 2060 go for now days. Asus dual OC, only about 3 months of use but have had it for 6 months.

the card should support multiple displays at any resolution as will the 2060. what display would you be using?

Way too powerful for 1080p, it's an entry 4K card just like RTX 3080. Which makes it a superb 1440p card. I mean you could get it for 1080p, but make sure you have adequate CPU to feed it and the monitor to display 200+ fps.

As I've tested, 5600X/12400 would bottleneck some games.

 

As for the used 2060, anyone who answers will have to look at market places to see the rate now, so why not do it yourself.

I have a 5600x and want to run 3 monitors at 1080p. If 1080p is not very smart for the card are there any 1440p gaming monitors in the 200ish range. I will be sim racing and playing racing games so a ggood refresh rate would be needed. Looking on ebay I reckon arund 200 AUD would be good for a 2060. Would you agree?

Racing games require fast CPU due to the simulated physics, so I really would not advise 6800 XT for 1080p if you only have 5600X.

not really. 5600x should be fine. For asseto corsa minimum is 6 core cpu. 5600x is a 6 core cpu. For iracing you min need a 4 core cpu. 5600x is a 6 core and for forza horizon 5 it says ryzen 3 1200.

nvm. Just realised thats in USD. I meant around 200 AUD for one monitor. Sorry should have stated that earlier.

Just because a CPU has 6 cores, does not mean that it will be as fast as any other 6 cores CPU, for example i5-10400 is much slower than i5-12400, both has 6 cores. Gaming wise, 10400 is slightly slower than 12100, which is a 4 core CPU.

Besides, I was talking about pairing 5600x with 6800 XT for racing games especially, not 5600x in general.

And this, you really won't get a decent 1440p 27" monitor around 200 AUD, that's just way too cheap. Even the cheapest 1440p monitor I could find is $240 AUD.

Why go EyeFinity though? Just gaming or some productivity workloads that needs separate screens?

i dont see why not. gpus from 20 years ago will support at least two 1080 monitors so 3 for a 2060 should be quite easy

On games like NFS heat the card is struggling to run medium settings above 60 FPS. I dont think it would perform well with three monitors at 1080p with decent settings. I want to be playing at ultra or high settings.

the 6800xt is a 4k card if you only use raster and no raytrace, with raytrace its a 1440p card with FSR because raytrace is really heavy on any card. 

 

At 1080p the 6800xt is be amazing even with the 5600x, yes you will be limited by the cpu, now if you put a fps limit for you screen for example 144hz so 144 fps limit you will run the card probbaly at 50 or 70% so it will run cool and wont overload your cpu. with this card your bottleneck will be the monitor anything above what your monitor can do is really wasting power.

ah ok i hadn't seen any sort of gaming mentioned it was only asked if the gpu supported those monitors/reslutions

Do Not bother with HP unless what you are buying is bulletproof. Everything they sell comes with a 1 year warranty. You are screwed if anything goes wrong. I see you already said you couldnt do HP anyway, but just know for future reference thats the case and a great vendor to skip.

To estimate your fps with 3x1080p (3k equivalent) monitors, you will be somewhere between the 4k and 1440p (2k). I think your gpu will be the bottleneck in almost every case with the 5600x cpu.  I was running 3x1080p screens with my 3070 and it was a blast. Have fun.

so is a 3070 and a 5600x with 3 1080p monitors ok?
