Love the white-themed and the double disk (that i can take from my actual build)

The only motherboard type that has any potential for “legs” atm is am5.  (And it’s only potential.  AMD could just decide they want to change the mobo for their next series. The only other options are lga1700 and am4 though and both of those are EOL, so it’s more or less the only game in town atm for what you want) So an am5 board with good VRM.  Something like this maybe?

It might wind up needing some fans.  I don’t know much about that case.  If it does there are  decent ons available for about €15 per though so it won’t impact the budget much

Love the fact that is micro ATX. i never had one before and in all my builds that i had i never used the other PCI other then the one for the GPU.

My biggest concern is that i have less potential upgrades (the ram speed is up to 6200MHz instead of 7200Mhz of a "standard" ATX), less M2 slots (not a big deal) and the air-flow can be more difficult (???)

GPUs hard to find in Italy specific market, but i wouldve gone for Gigabyte Aero 4080 at that price.

The gigabyte aero 4080 is gorgeus but does the 4080 have some pins problem (melting, burning,)?

Here my ideas, using all your hint. What do you think? Consideration?

Budget (including currency): € 2000,00 (± 10%)

Country: Italy

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming - target 2k 144FPS

Other details

i would love to have a build that can be upgraded "easily" for the next 6/8 years (maybe with new cpu and gpu).

i don't have any preferences about AMD/Intel or AMD/NVidia. Just want performance!

Plus (not mandatory): i would have a white-themed PC.

PS: I don't need monitor, keyboard and mouse

Both of the above are basically 4k systems that will rip the heck out of 1440p.  The first one has more processor and less video card the other one has the reverse.  Either would work. Everything is modular so one could mix and match freely.  It would be possible to lowball the video card even further and upgrade later if needed.  Basically the key feature here is a strong am5 motherboard and some decent memory.  You could go as low as a 3070 with the video card and be more or less fine for a while.  I was counting cooler by pipes and stacks.

Youre a fast learner. Preem.

Both build is definitely great but 1TB on new build to me is not quite enough nowadays with how verbose and uncompressed game texture datas become. 2TB would be my pick in here for bit of overbudget, but if you are thinking of later expansion then feel free.

I’ve never seen an issue with heat.  That might come from people building some REALLY small cases for matx the one I marked is a regular case, just a bit shorter.    You can fit matx in atx cases.  The board just doesn’t reach the bottom. Matx boards and cases are generally cheaper.  I’ve found that with the new avoidance of multiple GPUs, full atx just isn’t as useful as it used to be while itx tends to have space problems.  I’ve got an matx board in a core21 which is something of an airflow monster.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Thank you!

i'm the kind of person that uninstall games after a while or when i complete them, so i need around 250/300 GB for my games. Anyway, i think you are right and 2TB is actually a better option.

Anyway, thanks you all for the support!!!

I decided to build my first matx build, whish me luck 😄

Hope to give you some updates when i will start the build!

here my consideration:

Love the white-themed and the double disk (that i can take from my actual build)

The gigabyte aero 4080 is gorgeus but does the 4080 have some pins problem (melting, burning,)?

Here my ideas, using all your hint. What do you think? Consideration?

Thank you!

i'm the kind of person that uninstall games after a while or when i complete them, so i need around 250/300 GB for my games. Anyway, i think you are right and 2TB is actually a better option.

Ok, perfect. But if i do a matx i want a matx case too 😉

for the melting pins i'm refearring to the power connector

Anyway, thanks you all for the support!!!

I decided to build my first matx build, whish me luck 😄

Hope to give you some updates when i will start the build!

There are some pretty cool matx cases out there.  I think they’re the main advantage really. With most matx boards you get 3 slots: a 16, a 4, and a 1.  Sometimes there are only two or even just one

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I choose the Fractal Design Pop Mini Air because:

a) it is white 😄

b) it seems to be a good quality/price case

c) it can handle big GPU, up to 365mm

Do you have any other suggestion?

For case if you want to go atx the h5 flow is a good budget case or even the atx pop air is a good case as well. Or 5000d or 4000d airflow from corsair. Any of these are good cases. 4000d and h5 flow for more smaller

Btw you can get all these cases in white for the same price as their black equivalents

As i said before, if i go for a matx mobo i want a matx case too.

Probably i'm missing something, but i don't get the point to put a matx mobo into an atx case 😄

edit: * over than the price of the mobo ofc. But it is not the case.

Matx is on the larger end of SFF, so there are some unusual and potentially useful form factors that don appear in atx because they just create something that is too big (there is a version of the core21 for atx but it’s huge.  It reaches mini fridge proportions)

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
