6800XT BUILD - ROOKIE

Budget (including currency): $1700

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: APEX LEGENDS, video/audio editing, voice acting, STARCRAFT, and TWITCH/YOUTUBE/FACEBOOK streaming.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Aiming for high FPS 1440p gaming with 4k capabilities.

Decided on building around a 6800XT and 5800X3D. Also decided on a Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case.

I have bought my monitor already. ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 2K HDR Monitor (VG27AQ1A) - QHD (2560 x 1440), IPS, 170Hz

Need Motherboard, Cooler, Power Supply, OS, Storage, Memory and MNK.

Can anyone assist with providing a good build? This will be my first build, I have never dove into technology like this before. Thank you.

i will of course recommend by original build-

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zh4jTn

i have left a buffer for mouse and keyboard and also as my original post, i would recommend getting a windows 11 key from CDKEYOFFER.COM. CPUs right now have gotten so ridiculously fast for gaming that unless you run a 3090TI on 1080p, a modern i5 will keep up quite well.

but if you insist on the 5800X3D-

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xVrLGL

this is same to the first list but is based around the 5800X3D instead of the i5-12600k and in this list u get ur wish as your case being the 4000D airflow

Yea the 5800X3D im reading has been paired a lot with the 6800XT for gaming performance.

No I don't have those three parts yet, but they are the ones that I decided to build around

Then its time to switch around priorities. DAWs and Starcraft benefits a lot from CPU but Apex and Streaming is pretty GPU bound and we would probably want NVENC for the latter. Could you specify your priorities here?

better gpu with $150 buffer for OS and MnK.

look, im telling you, you would be wasting your money buying a 5800X3D because alder lake is cheaper and still fast enough and you can upgrade to the 13600k later without changing your motherboard which is even faster than the 5800X3D. by getting the 12600k i have been able to get a 6900xt witch is a lot faster than the 6800xt in EVERYTHING and it wont be CPU bottlenecked.

also the list has 32GB of RAM cuz games now need that much, has a better PSU and has a better SSD than the other lists.

as i said previously, it would be worth waiting to see what performance the new generation of GPUs can offer at this price range

if u still go for the 5800X3D and buy into a worse, completely dead platform, at least i tried
