Newegg is currently selling a Gigabyte RX 6800 non-XT triple fan card bundled with The Last of Us Part 1 for $465.

In terms of cost-per-frame this is easily the cheapest new high-end option - better value than any 30 or 40 series Nvidia card or 7000 series AMD card - and if you were planning to buy The Last of Us Part 1 anyway, you effectively get the game for free (or you save $60 on the GPU, whichever way you want to look at it). Something of note is that this particular card features 2x HDMI and 2x DP, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on if you want the 2nd HDMI port that's usually left off of newer cards these days.

 

The card has 16GB of VRAM so can easily handle ultra textures at 1440p, or often even 4K. I'd recommend the card for 100+ fps 1440p AAA gaming, but it could also handle 4K 60fps gaming in most titles if that's more your preference.

 

Here's a chart from a recent TechSpot review if you want to see how the card stacks up against other cards in pure performance - the CPU used in the review was the 5800X3D, but the numbers are at 4K, so that shouldn't be a bottleneck for anything but maybe the 4090:
