Show off your desk setup, I would like to see it :D

I've seen some videos with cool / relaxing / amazing Desktop workspaces and I was wondering if any of you want to show off the whole setup 😄

I'm trying to gather ideas since I want to change my messy workspace into something relaxing, looking into ambiance lights, wooden desk and all that!

@Gost1o1 Jesus Christ!!! What an amazing setup, goals 😀

First time hard tubing too. Definitely going to order more fittings for the next upgrade in 5 years 🤪. Some components are redundant or can easily be swapped from either PC as I have had a whole PC die on me in the middle of a tournament 😬. Some components will last me much longer such as the case, the radiators, power supply, water fittings, pump/blocks etc. With AM5 being the new platform I should have some upgrades hopefully 2 more generations like the previous Ryzen processor series being backwards compatible. However I didn't realize that the 2nd x16 slot on the $1000 motherboard is physical x16 but actually x8. Only the first x16 slot is x16 so that part actually sucks a lot. You can't switch which slot to use in the bios only to go down from x16 and x8 to x8 and x4 🤬. So point of reference wait for more motherboards that have more that 24 lanes of PCIE to share between all the slots.

@sirius300zx96Nice setup dude! 😄 I think your desk space is pretty similar to my current and I have space issues, have you thought about upgrading it?

@HM-2 That's so beautiful omg, out of topic question but did you ever get used to two monitors? I've had my dual setup for a year and a half or so, and 90% of the time I use my left monitor

My left monitor is mostly for my work laptop, which is in a hidden dock under my desk.

I move between two places, only things that stay are the screens and desk mats, everything else goes around with me in a cargo backpack (no, not an LTT one, I don't have that kind of money despite having good gear lmao)

PS5, laptop, headset, mouse, controller, powerbrick/cables, everything goes and I move every 10 days or so

I have minimalist cable management so I just have one braid of cable going to the power strip and a few cables that I had in double also stay in their spot so I just have to drop the item and plug it, everything setup.packed under 3mn !

(yes it's the same PS5, I just dbrand'd it and didn't have a more recent pic of that place with the new kit on it)

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. However, I'm really, really good at it.

@Hi P I can upgrade PCs and others but I cannot upgrade my room to have a bigger desk, so unfortunately no. It would be great if I could though.

Thanks 🙂

From top to bottom:
main pc
- Threadripper 3960X 24-core OC to 4.5Ghz
- 64Gb DDR4 4400 (running at 3777 because TR limitations..)
- ASUS Zenith 2 Etreme TRX40

- Radeon RX6900XT
- 1TB 970EVO boot, 2x 2TB Corsair Force MP400 in a ASUS Hyper M.2 card
- Mellanox ConnectX-5 100G NIC
- EK watercooling on all the important bits
- Lian-Li 011D Mini
- Coolermaster V850 SFX  with a noctua fanswap

Vouwfabriek server
- EPYC 7551 32-core
- 256GB DDR4 3200Mhz
- Supermicro H11SSL-i
- Inno3D RTX 3080 (alphacool block)
- Inno3D RTX 3090 (EK block)
- 256G boot drive, no further local storage
- Mellanox ConnetcX-2 Engineering sample NIC
- selfmade 4U casemod (watercooling friendly rackmout cases are hard to find)
- Seasonic prime TX1300 with a 140mm Noctua fanswap

NAS

- Dual Xeon Scalable Silver 4116 12-core per chip

- SuperMicro X11DPI-NT

- 1006GB ECC DDR4 in 16 sticks of 64GB (one DIMM broke, actualy 944GB now 😞 )

- SuperMicro 26-bay 2U server chassis

- 26x 2TB Samsung PM863a SSDs

- Crucial P5 M.2 (boot disk)

- Dual 920Watt SQ PSU's

- Noctua fanswaps on basically all hot parts

- Mellanox ConnectX-5 100G

The 100G Mellanox cards are a direct 100G connection between my threadripper system and the NAS. This way i can use the NAS as my steam library with NVMe-like speeds over the network!

I can picture this setup being uselessly but delightfully blazingly fast, lmao

The load times must be hella damn snappy

May I ask about your pool setups ? RAID ? UnRAID ? What do you use them and all that server processing power/RAM for too ?

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. However, I'm really, really good at it.

That's pretty cool 😄 You could also buy another pair of cables so that you don't have to move those, only plug-in stuff

oh I already have cables in double, just not a second powerbrick for my laptop, those are at least 150+ and basically impossible to find in stock somehow
