Whale Lan Monitor Hire?

Hello fellow whale lanners, I'll be coming from Australia with my mini ITX system and was wondering if there were any locals that might have a spare monitor I could rent off them for the Lan. Nothing fancy needed 馃檪聽thanks in advance.

Bruce.

For what it's worth, I just bought a Viotek GFV22CB 144hz monitor specifically because it will fit in my carry-on backpack along with my ITX system (flying in from Philadelphia in the US). That way I don't have to worry about baggage handlers messing with it when I fly, and can show up easily at the LAN from public transit.聽

It's surprisingly good if you're okay with a TN panel, and at least in the US it's frequently available for around $100 or even less if you wait for an open box (mine was $70 USD). Two of the retail boxes taped together would pretty much exactly equal one carry-on, actually.

If this is the only time you plan to use it, then it's probably not worth it, but for me I'll be using it as a second WFH monitor when I travel, including the 3 weeks or so in Vancouver around LTX.

On the site they mention potentially getting a PC rental service. I am bringing a Steam Deck so I wont use it, but if it does come through I may look into renting a monitor.

Have you tried restarting it?

Same, I'm bringing my Steam Deck for the Lan party lol.

If they don't have a monitor rental, I prob will just buy a portable monitor that I can use from time to time, or actually grab a 20 inch hdmi/display used monitor.

Im crossing my fingers that they'll do monitor rentals.

I have a couple of monitors - however they arent anything fancy.

Lenovo Thinkvisions - pretty crappy stats overall, but better than none!

How much are you renting them for, and what's the screen resolution/size?

Yes I would be very interested, I'll take anything, I haven't figured out a monitor solution, so for me if it turns on I will be your best friend, my gpu only has hdmi and display port, but if your monitor is only vga or something please let me know and i'll and tract down an adaptor or something 馃檪聽please feel free to DM to sort out details :)
