I want to draw on my iPhone.

 Share

Have the options for this changed in any way at all in the last 10 years or am I still looking at rubber ball on a stick crap?  I’ll pay for a good stylus but o don’t want to carry a whole tablet around just to draw on.  This rubber ball on a stick things are worthless.  I’ve seen lollipop on the end of a stylus stuff but they seem like a pita and they’re still rubber ball on a stick they’re merely see through.  For me, This and the lack of pimlical (though I’m learning to live without it) are the two worst things about iPhone.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

If you want to draw, you're way better off with a second-hand iPad pro with Apple pens,

Drawing on iPhones is just.. not worth it.

Or even buy a Samsung Note 10/22. Built in stylus, wortks like a charm

I used to have a note3 long ago.  It’s what I ran pimlical on. That thing had a kick ass drawing system.   How do you mean “not worth it”?  Is it just the rubber ball thing or will an Apple Pencil (v1 or v2) function?  I’m willing to buy and carry around an Apple Pencil and yes they’re ridiculously expensive.  It is what it is though.

Drat.  I was afraid of that.  It’s the stupid rubber ball on a stick only then.  Not worth carrying.

I loved my Note 10+ , had it for 2 years. Nice drawing apps.

But if I' m not mistaken, the iPad Pro has this Procreate or something, or even like an infinite canvas app.. Maybe spening a bit more might help?

Or do you really only want to draw on your iphone?

I only want to carry one device.  If apple made a folding screen thing I could take calls with I would be fine. The problem is apple segregated their stuff too much, and apple tablets got drawing, but not phone calls or real cell data stuff. I need both in one thing.  If Samsung didn’t have google datamining on it I’d still have a galaxy note.   I wasn’t running away from Samsung when I went iPhone, I was running away from google. Unless apple predation in that vein stays lower than Google’s I will stay with them too.  It’s apparently not zero the way it used to be but it’s still dramatically lower.  I do not consider android safe to use.  My move to iPhone was about me still needing a smartphone.  Google is plain old not-an-option. There were some open source forks of android that were safe, but the companies kept dying and out-of-date security is as bad as no security.

I’m holding a 13 promax at the moment which cost more than most laptops, so I’m not adverse to spending money if I have to.  I only do it when I have to though.

I got the best one.  It still sucked.  It’s not even as good as the stuff I was using in the 90’s. There’s actually a joke involving a Japanese sausage that can be used in place of those things and works just as well.  It’s unusable for fine work.  There’s not really a possibility that it’s a accident either.  No movement for 30 years?! Really? Pull the other one, it’s got bells on.

Well, an iPhone also isnt really made for fine precision work for drawings to be honest.

Thats why people tend to cater towards the iPad Pro with that drawing app

Exactly. It’s not made that way.  I’m just saying it seems it’s not an accident.

Ofcourse it isnt a mistake.

Look at the Note vs S series back then. Both very similair, but only the stylus made it (IMO) more practical. thus making it a seperate product, thus have to wait half a year, thus more money for Samsung.

Its all marketing
