Ryzen 7 5700G and Radeon RX 580

Casual45
Go to solution Solved by podkall,

Ryzen's iGPU is about as fast as GTX 1050, give or take,

RX 580 is ~50% faster than GTX 1050,

so expect roughly double fps if you go with that GPU.

In practise, many many many many many many games on 60fps or more, and about 80% of them medium or higher details.

(probably enough for your needs)

Hello. Let me preface this by saying I’m a casual gamer at best. I do not play online multiplayer games and stick with single player, so I’m not looking for running my games in 4K Ultra or anything like that.
I was able to pickup a Ryzen 7 5700g a couple months ago for about $150. Now, I’m considering getting a discrete graphics card, a Radeon RX 580 for about $130. Would that be a good value for what I’m using it for or should I just stick with the Ryzen 7’s Radeon Vega 8 iGPU?

My build is ROG Strix B550-XE motherboard with a Ryzen 7 5700g, using 16GB of Vengance 3200mhz CL16 RAM. I did use a 750w power supply in case I wanted to upgrade to a better CPU and GPU in the future. Thanks for any input.
