Can not get system to post after a CPU upgrade from a 2200G to 3600

I recently tried to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 2200g to a ryzen 3600. The motherboard is an Asus prime-a320m-k running BIOS version 5603 which should support the new CPU.

When turning the PC on all fans including the GPU fans (gtx 1650) spin and light up but the system refuses to post. The system worked before the upgrade and the CPU is from another system where it too was functioning a few days ago just fine.

So far I have tried:

Removing CMOS battery,

Trying with a new RAM kit,

Checking Motherboard and CPU power cables,

Booting with only power and monitor plugged in in case a USB or other device was causing a weird issue,

Removing the cooler and reseating the CPU along with checking for any obvious damage to both the socket and CPU pins.

I feel like i have exhausted all the usual obvious solutions and was wondering if anyone had any experiences like this with this board and had a potential fix or any other ideas.

Thank you guys and gals.

might be a daft question but have you updated the bios ?

compatable is one thing but the ability to run is dependant upon the bios being correct.

The display port in plugged into the back of the GPU. The Mouse and keyboard do not seem to be receiving any power either (they have RGB that is not lighting up) which is why i think its just not posting rather than any sort of display error since there is no power from the USB ports too

It is a slightly older version but still several versions newer than what the support site lists as when the CPU first got support on the motherboard. Putting in the old CPU back in and trying to update to an even newer version could be worth a go I guess ,even if it shouldn't be neccisary. Maybe ASUS has its documentation wrong, or the previous update has something up with it.

no idea but generally updating the bios with a new CPU is good practice as often the bios updates can offer more functionality

I did run the update over ehternet function which is what upgraded it to the 5603 version. I guess its a manual update with a USB needed then since that doesn't seem to pull any updates newer than the one I have.

It may well be related to my geo location. Rural district S.China

Also add the term inpatient and consider old habits die hard. Always downloaded and used a thumb drive for as long as I can remember.
