CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x

Motherboard: Aorus B550M Elite

RAM: Kingston HyperX 8gb 2x 3200Mhz

PSU: Silverstone Strider 650W 80+ Gold

Get the 6700XT.

Asrock is pretty new in the GPU business, but their cards seem to be good. A friend of mine has the 6700XT you're looking at since August 2021 and he likes it.

Hello guys! I'm planning to get a new GPU to replace my current one (1060 6gb).

So far in my area, there's a plethora of 3060Ti of several brands priced at around 450ish USD(estimated and converted from other currency).

But then there's this one AMD GPU that's priced at 440usd, Asrock challenger D RX 6700 XT.

I have no experience with Asrock as a GPU brand (always used Inno3D/MSI).

1. Is the price good?

2. Is the GPU itself good, performance wise compared to 3060Ti, and some other hardware-related concerns?

Thanks !

Given that it's only 10 USD in difference, I would still go with 3060ti, both GPUs are similar in performance and Nvidia offers better features like RT, DLSS, CUDA etc.

As for Asrock challenger D, their cooling is alright. My sister had Asrock 6600XT and didn't overheat. I recall reaching at peak of low 70c core temp (don't know hotspot temp but it had been under control too).

6700 XT is the same as 3060 Ti? Even when it was first released, it is closer to 3070 than it is to 3060 ti. Now with driver updates that have improved RX 6000 series performance, it is on par for non RT.

If he doesn't do any productivity work that requires CUDA cores, having CUDA cores is meaningless.

DLSS is not a selling point anymore, FSR is almost as good and most games with DLSS also have FSR.

If he only games, RX 6700 XT is the better choice.

Agree. The 6700X is at worst as good as RTX 3060ti and at best as good as RTX 3070ti in some edge cases (mainly recent Call of Duty games).

And this may be a personal take but from personal experience I can say that Ray Tracing with 3060ti is bad... the card does not perform well with RT at least in games I've tried... so I wouldn't exactly count RT as a factor.

6700Xt Better than 3060Ti in most regards for gaming. When launched The performance looks like this

There is multiple driver optimization that happened afterwards that give the card more performance. and both get around 60FPS at best in RT A slight win for 3060TI. But when it comes to modern games both will not be able to deliver a consistent framerate with RT enabled without the help of UpScaling. When it comes to upscaling FSR2.0 is Fine for what it is comparable to DLSS.

They were the same based on HU video 6700 XT vs 3060 ti 50 games tested, but I forgot that video was out before AMD's made performance improvement from driver version 22.5.2 onwards. In that case I now agree 6700 XT would be better performer for non RT games.

Thanks for the reply guys! I don't plan to play with Ray Tracing at all. I do play mostly at 1080p but I plan to switch at 1440p in a few years or so (cuz I just bought my monitor recently).

So it's better for me to get the asrock one, right? They're not known to have issues with their cards, right? (as far as I researched online or maybe I just haven't searched enough.)
