Which is better? A 4070 ti vs 6950 xt

I want to be able play at 1440p with above 100+ fps. The reason I am mixed between each other is that I really do care about ray tracing performance, and amd is lacking there, but they are more cheaper. Not sure which I should go with, and was hoping you guys could help. (;

Ray tracing is an Nvidia Gimmick, so if you like RT stuff, buy the Nvidia card. Also you should be comparing it to the 7900XT not the 6950XT since those two are the same price, 6950XT should be around 600$ish

If you really do care about RT, 6950XT is out of the running.

4070 Ti's RT performance is miles ahead of 6950 XT, but traditional rendering, 6950XT wins by a bit.

But without DLSS balance mode, you won't get 1440p ultra RT on at 100+ fps.

4070 Ti is 7% faster at 1440p in Techpowerup's benchmarks, where I'm extrapolating a previous result showing the 6950 XT as 6% faster than the 6900 at 1440p in their testsuite since only the 6900 shows up below:

4070 Ti will shows about 35% faster than 6950 XT in their RT benches at 1440p when using the 6950 XT at 7% faster than the 6900 XT at RT (from the 6950 XT review), so ~74 instead of 69.

Only times I have found RT to really be worth the performance hit though are in Spiderman with the RT reflections from skyscraper windows, and Control with RT reflections off the polished floor and RT glass reflections off windows and such. And Spiderman's RT reflections were cheap enough performance wise that I was able to use them on 60 fps modes on my PS5. If you're ok paying an extra $150 to $200 for better RT performance then go with the 4070 Ti. Though 6950 XT can also hit some very high power spikes so will require a better psu too.
