Extremly low clockspeeds on 3080ti

Try installing graphics card software like Msi Afterburner and set the Power Limit to 100% and see if that fixes the issue.

Hi,

I recently had a windows update and my RTX 3080ti has a horribly bad performance since then. It's clocking to an average of 255mhz instead of the 2000mhz it should be able to (according to GPU-Z sensor readings). The performance in VR and in normal games is really bad now. I had stable 60FPS in Forza Horizon 5 with Raytracing on and 1080p. Now I got about 26FPS and in every VR experience about 4FPS average. I think it's windows limiting the power target of the graphics card, because in taskmanger the usage of the 3080ti is 93% when a game is running.

Everything runs fine after reinstalling the graphics drivers, but only until I restart my computer. So that I have to reinstall the drivers every day. (The pictures show the difference in performance.)

My system:
-Win11
-12600k (intel)

-32GB DDR5

-NVME SSD 2TB running windows and another one running the game
-Asus Rog Strix Z-690i gaming wifi (mainboard)

-Corsair SF 750 (PSU)

What I tried to fix it:
-reinstall the drivers

-install another windwos update

-install new chipset drivers

-Setting the windows energy management to "highest performance"

-Setting the graphics driver in the nvidia control panel to "prefer high performance"

-use google to find that people say: "changing the windows energy management from highes performance to balanced and back should fix it" (which sadly didn't work out for me)

-asking chatGPT for help (I just had to try it 😄 ... but sadly no genius ideas either)

I think it must be a setting that gets overwirtten every time windows starts up, but I have no idea where to find it. Any idea?

Oh boy can't believe that I didn't came up with this idea. Thank you very much!

It's sad that I have to run another software in the background, but it's by far better than always reinstalling the drivers after every restart.
