Question on Asus Z690-A d4 and i9-13900K

Weeds

I am trying to upgrade my computer and planning to upgrade just my processor and motherboard. But I don’t want to spend lots of money, so I am thinking of just re-using some of my old pc components. So, I got some questions.

Question 1: Does the z690-a d4 supports the i9-13900k (not very familiar with this processor).

Question 2: Does the ASUS z690-a d4 support a 32gb ddr4 corsair dominator 2800mhz?

Question 3: If ever all 3 of them are compatible like the motherboard and processor including the 2800mhz ram would be any problems on it aside the performances?

Make sure to use current CPU to upgrade bios so that it supports your new CPU, (or use flashback)

Supports up to 3200 /5333(OC), up to 128GB. (most likely it does)

I don't see what problems it could have,

13th gen CPU - MB supports it from certain BIOS version - MB supports even faster RAM than you have.

It's harder to find incompatible RAM with Intel than with AMD.

You're good, just check your bios version,

if you're updating BIOS, make sure to watch guide it's little tricky.

#1 Yes it just needs a bios update.

#2 Yes, although its pretty silly to spend 600$ on a CPU while gimping its performance with low speed ram like that, Getting a 137000k with a DDR5 KIT will be much better.

#3 Generally it wont cause any issues, although its again pretty silly to do so because you are spending so much on the CPU, you should get all the performance you can out of it

Will you be just gaming on the PC, or doing other things?

Thank you for the insight. It’s just I have a limited budget right now, but maybe I can upgrade the ram in the future (I just spotted a good deal on the processor that's why i was tempted to upgrade).

I’ll use it as a rendering/editing and maybe a little gaming. But right now, I just have a limited budget (I just spotted a good deal for the processor that’s why I was tempted to upgrade).

You should just avoid the 13900k, it's uselessly expensive and hot for gaming, it'll need a beefy cooler

A 13700k or 13600k will game as well and the money saved will allow you to get a better board and faster RAM for better overall performance

System : AMD R9 5900X / Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO/ 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600CL18 ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Eisbaer 280mm AIO (with 2xArctic P14 fans) / 2TB Crucial T500  NVme + 2TB WD SN850 NVme + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD drives/ Corsair RM850x PSU/  Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / Logitech G915TKL keyboard (wireless) / Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones
