i5-13600KF or i5-13600K

Azowel

Hi guys,

I'm going to buy a i5-13600K or i5-13600KF, the second one is obviously cheaper because it does not have an integrated graphic card. However it could be an issue. I want to buy this MBD:

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b760-i-gaming-wifi-model/spec/

and this gpu:

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RTX-4070-Architecture-12G/dp/B0BNWBJ8Z6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=B2MC154ZK0MP&keywords=rtx+4070+ti+msi&qid=1674942091&sprefix=rtx+4070+ti+m%2Caps%2C233&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.765d4786-5719-48b9-b588-eab9385652d5

I will use a riser PCIe 4.0, a port on the MBD PCIe 5.0, and a PCIe 4.0 RTX 4070 Ti.

So maybe I will have to change in the bios my MBD to PCIe 4.0, however to do that I need a gpu, is it possible to do it with the i5-13600KF ?

Thanks

Nope, you won't. The slot will default to the speed of the AIC, so if the GPU is Gen 4 it'll run at Gen 4 by default.

It's up to you whether you want to go for the iGPU or not, it's not needed for this setup, though it is nice for troubleshooting. I haven't personally had one in my main rig for something like 7 years at this point, so it's definitely not necessary, though for compact systems like this it might be a better good idea.

Ok thanks for your information

the i5-13600KF is very cheap at this moment:

Do you think it is a good moment to buy it ?

By the way, do you think RTX 4070 Ti and i5-13600KF will have bottleneck ?

Every setup has a bottleneck somewhere, though that's a pretty good pairing.

Yes you're right, one is always faster than another, and it will depends on tasks I guess.
