B450M Steel Legend Bios Update

Hi, need help about updating bios version for Asrock B450M Steel Legend. I'm currently about to upgrade my ryzen 2600 to 5700x, my bios is outdated because it's still in 2.10 version while version that support ryzen 5000 series are 3.60

according to their website

https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/b450m steel legend/#BIOS1

so my questions is :

1. do i need to going number by number to reach to 3.60 version? like i'm on 2.10, do i need to 2.13A first and then 2.30 and so on until 3.60? or just go with 3.60 (that means only updating once)

2. is it safe to just going all around to the latest 4.60?

3. how do i flash it? i mean from hardware technicality, do i still put my 2600, flash new bios, and then replace to 5700x? or put 5700x and then flash new bios?

thanks

1. Yes You could directly update  If version doesn't  have "Update this one before this one" in your case it doesnt seem like it

2. If the CPU supports Yes. In your case you could update to 4.60

3. https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS10 (you need to use the old cpu and after upate use the new cpu)

1: I don't know. If you need an "in between" bios, it will tell you so.

2: I don't see any problems with that.

3: without the correct BIOS version, your motherboard 99% sure won't post with the 5700x. Use the 2600 during updates.

1. I just read through the Bios notes on the page, the versions newer than 2.10 do not require some in-between versions to be flashed first meaning you can flash 4.60 directly.

2 Yes. And that's what you should do.

3. Flash with the 2600 because the system won't boot with a 5700X unless there's P4.30 or newer on the board. The 5700X Requires P4.30.
