Upgrades for Existing Build

Irehardt

Budget (including currency): Around $800

Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Destiny 2, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Horizon/Cyberpunk/future AAA RPG titles

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

CPU: Intel i7-7700K 4.3 GHz
Motherboard: MSI Z270 GAMING M5 (PCI-E 3.0)
RAM: G.Skill RIPJAWS 16GB DDR4 1200MHz (Upgrade Planned to DDR4 3200MHz 16GB)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (Gigabyte)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (OS mainly) | Seagate 2TB SATA Barracuda (don't remember the exact details)
Power Supply: CoolerMaster MasterWatt 700W Lite 230V

Case: CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro 5 Special Edition (ATX)
Cooling: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 120 | CoolerMaster 1200RPM Case Fans x2

My main issues right now are definitely my cooling solutions and my RAM.I don't really care for aesthetics even though the case says otherwise.

Suggestions for both are welcome, as well as any other suggestions for getting my performance up.

Definitely oc, aim for 4.8-5ghz 1.25-1.35v, may wanna delid though since stock tim is trash, its as easy as just sliding a thin cutting tool like a thin razor (can find in one of those generic shaving tools, youll have to take one apart though) under the ihs and popping it off, even thermal paste will be better than stock tim but liquid metal preffered

Can upgrade all the way to a 9900k if you modify the bios and do a pad mod on the cpu (connect sktocc pad to vss with some copper tape or conductive ink)

Upgrading to 32gb or are you only upgrading for extra ram speed? If you are doing the latter just oc your ram to 3200 since most ics will do 3200 but check thaiphoon burner to verify what ram ic you have

Any dual tower aircooler will do, look for the cheaper but still good dual towers like thermalright frost spirit 140, peerless assassin 120, id cooling se 207, deepcool ak620, scythe fuma 2, etc.

• 120mm liquid coolers are generally very inefficient compared to their bigger brothers. I have the smaller version of this cooler & it has been impressive in all of its reviews, so the beefier version should serve you very well.

• Though you can technically afford a 3070 Ti, performance per $ scales very poorly beyond the 3060 Ti right now. This will still be a very significant upgrade from a 1070 without raising the power draw by much.

A 5600 w/motherboard would leave you room for a new GPU as well as providing a large CPU upgrade.   Or were you set on keeping the 7700K?

Also get more SSD.  HDD's are great for mass storage but can stutter with texture loading in games.
